Halloween Blog Hop

This is something new to me ... I have joined my first Blog Hop organized by Prairie Paper Haven, with the theme being Halloween :)

I love Halloween, so this was a great theme for my first blog hop!!  I attended an awesome crop last weekend put on by my friend Rhonda, and this canvas was a make and take I was lucky to be able to do at her crop!!  She had the canvas pre-painted in a dark blue and then provided die cuts, Stickles, paint, mesh, inks and other cool goodies for us to use to make our canvas projects awesome!!  Rhonda has given me permission to use this project for this :)

I hope you will check out the other blogs involved in this blog hop!!!

Finally got my layout done for week #3.  Good thing I'm not actually in the competition, or I'd be late :)   Also, I didn't exactly follow the rules ... was supposed to be one page and I did a double layout.   Spent alot of time this weekend cutting and organizing paper for Project Pocket, that I lost track of time and just got behind on the layout.

Here's my layout ... I used pencil crayon and scribbled all over the background.  Then used sharpies to try my hand at doodling.  I actually am happy with how it turned out :)  I doodled on 2 pictures on each page :)

Looking forward to seeing who makes it into next week's round!!  GO TEAM CANADA!!!!!!!!  :)

Well, I didn't make it to round 3 of the tournament, but I really was not surprised.  I struggled with the challenge #2 and really was not happy with my layout.  Of course I came up with ideas too late .... it is all good though, I am still going to play along and do the challenges, they have set up an area where we can upload our layouts, for those of us that have already been voted off the island :)   There are 3 Canucks left in the scrapbooking category and 1 left in the card category.  These women are so talented!  I am lucky enough to know Dawn, who is the sole competitor in the card category and she is so amazingly talented, I want to be her when I grow up ;)  heehee

I have to admit Challenge #3 would have kept me up at night lol.  It is all about doodling ... I have NEVER doodled on a layout!!

Here's the details:
General:
Make a scrapbooking layout with lots and lots of doodling on it.
Pages:
- One.
- Format 30,4 x 30,4 cm (12x12 inch)
Theme:
Free
Colors:
Free
Photos:
- Minimum 4 photos
- No photo’s with people (foreground or background) or parts of people on them.

- You will have to add doodling ON 2 of the photos. (exactly 2 no more no less)
- Add a handwriten/doodled title directly on the layout
- Add a handwritten journal of minimum 20 words directly on the layout.
- All doodling must be hand doodled!
Not to be used:
- Flowers in any form. So no flowers on your LO. Including your papers and photos and doodling. You can't even doodle flowers on your layout. You can doodle anything else.
- Alphabet stickers, alpha thickers, diecut, punched alpha, handcut alpha, stamped alpha, punched alpha, alphabet using a stencil or any other alphabet embellishment.
Allowed:- Cutting machines and punches are allowed except for alphabets and flowers.

Some layouts have already been posted and WOWSERS, there are some seriously amazingly talented people in this competition.

Entering the scrapbook tournament was huge for me.  I have never done anything like that before and it was a hard step for me to take, I am pretty critical of my projects.  I am so glad I entered and making it to round #2 was such a confidence boost :)

Have a few projects on the go, making something special for my full time daycare kidlets :)  Need to get cracking on them :)  Will post pictures as soon as I get them going :)

Got my layout completed ... hopefully it will be enough to get me through to week #3, and if not I will enjoy seeing what everyone who does make it through comes up with :)  I'll still probably do the layouts just because :) :)

Here it is, I went with blues for my color.  I used wooden letters painted Peacock Blue, with some added blue bling from Dollarama, blue staples and lots of buttons in shades of blue.  The picture is my Dad's cabin at Candle Lake, which we are so blessed to have in our family, I love being up there.  Jump off the deck, land in the sand :)

Here is my first layout for the Supreme Scrap Tournament 2014!! The theme was "1000 Steps From Home" .... For this layout I used: Black Cardstock, Patterned Paper all from "Strong" kit by Authentique, Cherish BINGO card from Simple Stories "Documented", "100 Steps" TLC Rub-ons, 3 black dots ... from Storytellers Timeless Letters, Dew Drop Momento Ink - Northern Pine, Dollarama Bling................. The journalling reads: After having brain surgery to remove a cancerous brain tumour in January 2000, my brother moved in with us. He lived with us for about 10 years and we loved having him here! Our son especially! In January 2010, he was 10 years cancer-free! He decided it was time to move on. A house went up for sale four houses away and in October 2010, he moved in! At first our son was devestated, but soon loved that his Uncle was right down the street! I love that he lives so close!
